Glassdoor Reviews API
Our Glassdoor Reviews API allows you to scrape employee reviews of a company from Glassdoor.
Find the Glassdoor ID of a company (employer_id) with our Glassdoor Companies API.
The API endpoint is https://serpapi.com/search?engine=glassdoor_reviews
Head to the playground for a live and interactive demo.
API parameters
Search query
employer_id
Required
Parameter defines the Glassdoor ID of the company (e.g., 9079 for Google). It is the number after E in Glassdoor company URLs (e.g., https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Google-Reviews-E9079.htm), and the employer_id of our Glassdoor Companies API results.
Advanced filters
q
Optional
Parameter defines the text to search for in the reviews, like the review search box of Glassdoor (e.g., work life balance or remote).
sort_by
Optional
Parameter defines the sorting order of the reviews. It defaults to most_relevant.
Available options:most_relevant - Most relevantnewest - Newestoldest - Oldesthighest_rating - Highest ratinglowest_rating - Lowest rating
rating
Optional
Parameter defines the overall rating of the reviews, from 1 to 5 stars.
Searches with q return the reviews rated rating or higher (e.g., 4 for 4 and 5 stars).
employment_status
Optional
Parameter defines the employment status of the reviewers. Separate several statuses with a comma (e.g., intern, contract). It defaults to full_time,part_time.
Available options:full_time - Full-timepart_time - Part-timecontract - Contractintern - Internfreelance - Freelance
SerpApi parameters
no_cache
Optional
Parameter will force SerpApi to fetch the Glassdoor Reviews results even if a cached version is already present. A cache is served only if the query and all parameters are exactly the same. Cache expires after 1h. Cached searches are free, and are not counted towards your searches per month. It can be set to false (default) to allow results from the cache, or true to disallow results from the cache. no_cache and async parameters should not be used together.
async
Optional
Parameter defines the way you want to submit your search to SerpApi. It can be set to false (default) to open an HTTP connection and keep it open until you got your search results, or true to just submit your search to SerpApi and retrieve them later. In this case, you'll need to use our Searches Archive API to retrieve your results. async and no_cache parameters should not be used together. async should not be used on accounts with Ludicrous Speed enabled.
zero_trace
Optional
Enterprise only. Parameter enables ZeroTrace mode. It can be set to false (default) or true. Enable this mode to skip storing search parameters, search files, and search metadata on our servers. This may make debugging more difficult.
output
Optional
Parameter defines the format of the result. It can be set to json (default) to get a structured JSON of the results, html to get the raw HTML retrieved, or md to get a Markdown-formatted version optimized for LLMs and AI agents.
json_restrictor
Optional
Parameter defines the fields you want to include in the output, reducing payload size for faster response. See the JSON Restrictor documentation for more details.
API results
JSON results
JSON output includes structured data for Company Information, Reviews and Pagination.
A search status is accessible through search_metadata.status.
It flows this way: Processing -> Success || Error.
If a search has failed, error will contain an error message.
search_metadata.id is the search ID inside SerpApi.
HTML results
This API does not have a full HTML response, only text.
search_metadata.prettify_html_file contains a link to the prettified version of the result.
It is displayed in the playground.
Markdown results
Markdown output is optimized for LLMs and AI agents. It provides a curated view of the JSON results
in a token-efficient format using tables, markdown links, and YAML frontmatter.
To access, use the output=md parameter, the /search.md endpoint, or request header Accept: text/markdown.

"cons": "Sales at Google is a highly gamified, strictly metrics driven role focused on checking off boxes, and toxic middle managers will frequently remind you of that . It is jarring how retrogressive the method for tracking productivity is at company that strives to be forward thinking. There is little room for original thinking, creativity, or unique perspectives in this role. The goals are not attainable for most teams, and success is more often than not dependent on the quality of the book you receive. Hard work does not necessarily equate to success in this position, managers only care about a very specific, largely unrealistic outcomes. The aggressive gamification of this role creates a huge conflict of interest when it comes to building genuine client relations.",
"advice_to_management": "Do you ever ask yourselves why it is this difficult to sell a good product? (which Google is.) I've had an easier time selling inferior products at other companies, simply because clients liked us more. \n\nI find it hard to believe upper management isn't aware of the reputation Google Strategists have to clients and agencies. Their suspicion of strategists is a result of contradictory goals that leave little room for a natural relationship to unfold with a client. \n\nSupport your sellers: re structure incentives that don't place client relationships in a pressure cooker that corrode trust, and focus on creating a filtration system that ensures sellers receive clients who are willing to actively engage with Google. I'm not sure if the aggressive goals are a psychological tactic, but you must also be aware that they aren't being met and it isn't a mystery as to why.",

"cons": "Following continuous rounds of layoffs, the environment shifted from celebrating creativity to being dominated by perfectionism and psychological safety issues. Fear of job loss has stifled original thinking, leaving employees hesitant to dissent or try new approaches. Furthermore, the company has increasingly relied on AI to dictate the roles of designers, PMs, and engineers. This has resulted in a loss of product innovation, forcing teams to output cookie-cutter Gemini concepts that often fail to serve the actual end-user.",
