Introducing Top News for the Google News Results API

We've expanded our Google Search API with dedicated parsing for Google's "Top news" section, which Google now shows for some Google News (tbm=nws) searches. Articles from this block are extracted into a new top_news array alongside the existing news_results. This makes it easy to see which stories Google highlights as the leading coverage for a topic or location, separately from the full list of news results. It's ideal for developers building news monitoring dashboards, media intelligence platforms, PR and brand tracking tools, local news aggregators, and AI agents that need timely, high-signal news coverage. Details

Top News Results

More Accurate References for Google AI Overview and AI Mode

We've rebuilt how references are parsed in Google AI Overview and AI Mode results, improving the accuracy of the references list and of the reference_indexes that connect each part of an answer to the sources it cites. This resolves cases where AI Overview text blocks were returned without their reference_indexes, making it easier to trace each statement back to its source title, link, snippet, and source. The update applies to AI Overviews returned by the Google Search API and the Google AI Overview API, as well as to the Google AI Mode API. It's ideal for developers building AI visibility and brand monitoring tools, citation tracking platforms, GEO and SEO analytics, and RAG pipelines that need to know exactly which sources back each AI-generated answer. Details

Amazon Search API

Bug fixes

  • We have fixed the issue where the API was intermittently ignoring the provided delivery_zip and returning results for a different location. If the delivery location can't be set, the API now returns an error instead of results for the wrong location. Details

Amazon Product API

Features

  • We are now extracting the "Customers also bought" section as part of bought_together. Details

Improvements

  • We have improved the reliability of setting the delivery location with the delivery_zip and shipping_location parameters. Details

eBay Search API

Changes

  • We have discontinued the Sold and Complete options of the show_only parameter, since eBay now requires a login to view sold and completed listings. Requests using these options now return an error. Details

  • We have fixed the issue where the API was, in some cases, missing to extract organic_results. Details

Google Lens API

Changes

  • We have discontinued the Google Lens About This Image API (type=about_this_image), since Google no longer supports the About This Image search type in Google Lens. Requests using it now return an error. Details
